Black and White Assignment

This assignment is a collection of black and white photographs.  I decided to look through all the photographs that I hadn't used from previous assignments and using Photoshop, I was able to edit them to be black and white.  I learned how to easily do this by using the edit option for black and white within the photoshop program.  I really enjoyed looking back at photos that I had already taken and using pictures that I wanted to use in previous assignments but didn't have space for.  Changing them to black and white made them look more polished and elegant.

Gimp Portrait Assignment

This assignment was meant to teach us a couple different things.  The first thing that we learned was the proper way to take a portrait style photograph in the Studio at Saline High School.  Through this experience we learned how to use proper lighting, the correct settings on our cameras, and proper angles to take photos.  Also, we learned how to do some new things through the Gimp program.  We learned the correct way to anchor photographs and frame them in order to make them look more professional.  Overall, this was a very educational assignment and I learned a lot.

Still Life Assignment

For this assignment, I was asked to find items within my environment to take photographs of.  I traveled throughout Saline High School in order to find still objects to take pictures of.  By using Photoshop, I was able to edit some of the photos in order to make them clearer and more interesting.

Architecture Assignment

For this assignment, the goal was to take pictures of different architectural items in our community. I decided to take pictures of the amazing architecture of Saline High School. I was able to find several areas within the school that were well worth taking pictures of.

Assignment 2- Nature

This photography assignment asked us to take pictures of items in nature.  It allowed us to explore the outdoors and enjoy the beauty of all things natural.  During the fall season, everything is changing and I wanted to take pictures that helped to showcase these changes.

Event Assignment

The photos that will be viewed in this posting are pictures of a trip that I took with my classmates to the Saline Fire Station on October 8, 2010. During this assignment, I was asked to take pictures of things that would help to tell a story of the trip. I wanted to make sure that there were a variety of different types of pictures to illustrate the many aspects of the fire house.

Gimp Assignment 1

This assignment was designed to introduce Gimp. Through the assignment I learned how to add color to a picture, resize a photo, and use several other tools through the Gimp program.
